Solid State Chemistry at CSUF

The Fry-Petit Lab focuses on 3 main objectives:

  1. Use data mining to create correlation diagrams toward the elucidation of mechanistic driving forces of structure-property relations and influence novel synthesis (Objective 2).

  2. Synthesize and probe the properties of materials within the systems of interest as influenced by the structural correlation diagrams (Objective 1) and as a means to further probe mechanistic driving forces.

  3. Continue the development of methods used to probe the long-range average and short-range structure of materials in both time averaged and instantaneous regime specifically dynamic pair distribution (DPDF) analysis.

These 3 main objectives will be used to answer questions relating to polar, luminescent, and ionic conducting materials.
